Morning Report is looking for an experienced Senior Producer, who can join our afternoon team in Auckland and contribute to creating a vibrant, live experience on air and online for our audiences.
Working Sunday through Thursdaywith some of the industry’s top talent and covering the highest profile stories in NZ and overseas, you will be committed to the highest standards of journalism and have a thorough understanding of national and international news.
Responsibilities of the role include:

Keeping up to date with both national and international news stories

Working with the show’s dedicated production team, the newsroom, digital and others across RNZ on editorial components for on-air and online, including initiating, selecting, and developing story ideas.

Working closely with the Morning Report presenter, providing notes/background information/research as required.

Editing pre-recorded interviews, identifying relevant video and audio cuts, including re-editing interviews when required.

Appearing on-air as required.

Maintaining a diverse and relevant list of contacts.
Ōu Pūkenga - About You
Working as part of a team in a high energy programming environment, you’ll need:

Daily news and breaking news experience.

Knowledge of national and international news and current affairs.

Experience in live on-air radio production.

The ability to gain an on-air pass at RNZ, with a broadcast quality voice, including strong Māori andPacific pronunciation skills.

The ability to work under pressure with the ability to turn great ideas into compelling radio and online content.

A commitment to working rostered shifts primarily in the afternoons and evenings.

This is a full-time role working Sunday to Thursday, based in Auckland.
