The opportunity:
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT Group. In this role, you will be responsible for the secure design, implementation, and ongoing management of KPMG’s infrastructure systems. Working closely with the SSE Lead and other stakeholders, you will ensure our systems meet high standards of security, performance, and reliability. You will play a key role in maintaining and evolving our infrastructure, supporting compliance, and driving innovation through automation and modernisation.
Day to day you will:
- Design, build, and maintain secure infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with KPMG’s security policies and best practices.
- Manage patching, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes across server and workstation environments.
- Manage application delivery, software version control, and system updates.
- Administer MDM solutions for Windows/macOS/iOS/Android.
- Maintain virtual hosting environments, including storage systems SAN/Local/NAS, and support migration of workloads to Azure.
- Act as an escalation point for the DaaS program and contribute to Operational IPCA controls.
- Implement automation to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and assess their relevance to KPMG.
- Collaborate with team members, contribute to strategy discussions, and support training and development across the ITS team.
What you'll bring to the team:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with MECM, Intune, Microsoft Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, vSphere, and SAN technologies.
- Microsoft certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of the five pillars of a well-architected framework: operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimisation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate across functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into business context.
- High level of professionalism, self-motivation, and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering client-centred services and acting as an effective representative of the team and KPMG.
