Working With The Best
Based in Christchurch (or within a 30-minute to 1-hour drive), this role supports our Southern Region providing hands-on service and technical support to our customers across this area.
The position involves regular travel across the region, often requiring overnight stays in various locations. You will become increasingly autonomous as your skills and knowledge develop, and you must be comfortable working safely and unsupervised.
Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and repair drinking water treatment systems, including filtration systems, disinfection equipment, pumps, valves, and other components.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks, inspections, and performance tests on water treatment systems to ensure optimal functionality and adherence to industry regulations.
- Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs, provide technical advice, and offer recommendations for improving system performance and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, including equipment maintenance logs, service reports, and client communication.
- Stay up to date with industry advancements, best practices, and regulatory changes to provide informed technical support and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on-site to prevent accidents and promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Service Technician, preferably in the drinking water industry or a similar field.
- Technical certification, trade, or degree in a related field is desirable but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of drinking water treatment systems, including various filtration methods, disinfection techniques, and water quality parameters is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a natural ability to troubleshoot.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
