Based at Whangarei, this fast paced, challenging role will allow you to showcase your commercial construction management experience and further develop these skills on this $100m development. Reporting to the Commercial Site Manager you will be instrumental in the on-going construction of the multi-level main building.
This is a 6 month fixed term position.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Establishment, monitoring and implementation of the construction program
- Administrative duties including:
- Generation and tracking of RFIs
- Issue Site Instructions
- Contractor coordination
- Managing and implementing construction QA processes
- Updating safety documentation (traffic plans, site specific plans, contractor compliance documentation)
- Ensure documents are up to date and forwarded to contractors
- Up holding a 'Zero Harm' culture on site
- Manage and develop direct reports to ensure all aspects of the of the project deliverable are controlled.
Who are we looking for?
- Have a relevant trade qualification (e.g. Advanced Trade Cert Building) or qualification in Construction or Project Management
- Have significant experience in "hands on" site management of commercial developments and contractors
- Excellent programming ability (MS Project), organisational and negotiation skills
- Have sound commercial judgement with the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Able to lead large teams to a common goal, must have experience coordinating and managing subcontractors on a large scale project
- A systems and process driven construction professional who understands the importance of proper QA and H&S reporting systems
- An effective and dynamic communicator able to identify and delivery differing communication streams to achieve best results to a large audience
