About the Role

As a Social Worker - PPPR Specialist, you will provide specialist knowledge education and guidance and support to social work staff and community partners in aged residential care facilities (ARC) of the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988 (PPPR) and Family Court processes. It is a specialist role for a Social Worker who has experience in the legal framework around Protection of Personal & Property Rights (PPPR) to manage and coordinate all Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau PPPR court applications, communications and processes.

This role is a permanent, part time position working 28 hours per week.

Health Social Work is a key component in the multidisciplinary team in supporting whanau through their health journey. Be part of a dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team that effectively uses social work processes to ensure quality health Social Work is provided to Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora - Te Tai Tokerau clients/families/whanau; whilst maintaining professional practice standards.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience working with individuals and families with diverse needs and be an effective communicator with a high level of interpersonal skills.

  • Current registration with NZ Social Workers Registration Board
  • Current full New Zealand Driver's Licence
  • Extensive social work experience that can be translated into a health setting
  • Proven ability to maintain professional standards and competence
  • Advanced knowledge of the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988
  • Demonstrated experience in social work processes, theories and concepts specifically working with older people is an advantage

Whilst not essential, 4 years of post-graduate experience and/or health social work experience will be highly desirable.
