As a Senior DevOps / Build Engineer at Blind Squirrel Games, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our game development pipelines. You’ll work closely with engineering, IT, and production teams to ensure our CI/CD systems, deployment processes, and developer tools are efficient, scalable, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated build systems to support game development across multiple projects.
- Design and manage scalable cloud infrastructure to support game services and backend systems.
- Deploy and maintain Perforce across a global studio topology, ensuring version control performance and availability.
- Administer and tune virtualized environments — Proxmox preferred; experience with hypervisors and VM configuration required.
- Implement infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible and Semaphore.
- Support backend teams with infrastructure tooling, cloud expertise, and DevOps best practices.
- Write scripts and automation tools using Python, Groovy, and shell scripting to support developer workflows.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure smooth deployment, monitoring, and support of services and tools.
- Maintain dashboards and metrics using tools like PowerBI, Grafana, or similar.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to high-priority build or infrastructure issues, especially during critical project milestones or launches.
Required / Preferred Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps or Build Engineering.
- Strong experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure — especially AWS (EKS, ECS, IAM, S3, VPC, Secrets Manager, etc.).
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Advanced scripting abilities (Python, Groovy, Bash, etc.).
- Experience with Linux server administration and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging frameworks and dashboard tools (Grafana, Prometheus, PowerBI).
- Strong understanding of source control systems, particularly Perforce, in game development environments.
Bonus Points
- Experience with UnrealBuildTool (UBT).
- Shipped at least one AAA game title in a DevOps, Build Engineer, or Infrastructure role.
- Familiarity with game development pipelines, tools, and processes.
- Experience with custom build systems, asset management tools, or platform-specific deployment strategies.
- Experience working with Git version control in conjunction with Perforce or in hybrid setups.
- Passion for games and supporting game developers in delivering amazing experiences.
