ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you a qualified Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT) looking to specialise in mammography? We have an exciting opportunity to join our Breast Imaging Service team in Palmerston North, providing essential screening and diagnostic services across the central North Island.
This role involves working within BreastScreen Coast to Coast (BSCC), which delivers screening and assessment services as part of the National Breast Screening Programme – BreastScreen Aotearoa. You will also contribute to diagnostic services for symptomatic clients and those requiring ongoing surveillance.
The position includes rostered work on our mobile mammography unit, which travels to rural and remote areas across Taranaki, Whanganui, Manawatū, Horowhenua, East Coast, Hawke's Bay, Tararua, and the lower Central Plateau. Travel requirements range from day trips to week-long assignments.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold an undergraduate qualification in Medical Imaging Technology and a current practising certificate
- Be willing to complete postgraduate studies to meet BreastScreen Aotearoa requirements (if not already completed)
- Be available to work 80 hours per fortnight, including weekdays and/or weekends
- Be able to travel away from home on a rostered basis (1 in 3 or 4 weeks)
- Hold a full driver's licence
- Be physically fit to manage the demands of repetitive screening
- Enjoy working with people and adapt your practice to meet client needs
- Work well in a team environment
Experience in mammography is not essential – full training (including costs) will be provided for the right candidate.
