Fulton Hogan is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer/Supervisor to assist in the operation and delivery of the Timaru District Council Road Network Operations and Maintenance Contract. You will report to the Contract Manager and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the maintenance contract, including assisting with all programming and reporting functions.
In addition to the above you will:
- Pull together resource including plant, people and subcontractors to complete pavement works and contract maintenance.
- Complete site set up, planning and quality control for all projects under your responsibility.
- Interpret contract documentation into a work instruction to communicate to effectively with crews and other key stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone with:
- A relevant Civil Engineering qualification.
- Significant experience supervising crews in a road maintenance environment.
- Understanding and experience in the management and maintenance of both sealed and unsealed pavements (including design).
- Service Location Experience.
- Pavement testing understanding with experience in the use of pavement compaction testing equipment, such as Clegg Hammer and Nuclear Density Meter.
- A strong understanding of effective pavement drainage practices and techniques.
- Skilled in emergency response event co-ordination.
- Proficient in Pocket RAMM and RAMM HTML.
- Experience organising resources, including crews and sub-contractors.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, with a focus on health & safety, quality and data collection.
