Job Description
We are seeking committed and self-motivated people for the position of Trainee Company Meat Inspector.
As part of the Compliance team, the successful applicants will be responsible for carrying out post-mortem inspection of dressed carcasses and their parts to identify conditions that may affect food safety standards.
We are offering training to successful applicants so that they will hold the NZQA Level Four Certificate in Animal Examination (Sheep, Lamb, Beef and Bobby). We will consider applicants who can demonstrate a proven track record of learning and that are willing to undergo this comprehensive training.
Qualifications
By the time our applicants have successfully completed the 26 week training they will be operating in a fast paced knife handlers role, so in addition to a history of knife handling, we also are looking for the following key personal requirements:
- Attention to detail and excellent organisation
- Being a friendly, approachable team player
- A great work ethic and can do attitude
- A proven track record of being reliable and punctual
- Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised.
- Previous experience within the meat industry, food production or the food safety field is advantageous.
