Wastewater Process Engineer

The residents and visitors of Dunedin City are provided safe drinking water via six water treatment plants and serviced for wastewater via seven wastewater treatment plants. These plants ensure there is a continuous supply of safe drinking water for the public which meets and exceeds the drinking water standards, and that wastewater discharges to the environment are of the highest possible standard and comply with consent limits. The people who operate and maintain Dunedin's water and wastewater treatment plants make an important contribution to the public health of the community in which they live and work, and you will be a vital part of the team.

The Opportunity

You will be working with the Senior Process Engineer to adapt the processes to challenges that come with the rapidly changing environment. There will be plenty of variety and challenges to look forward to as you build rapport and buy-in with colleagues across departments and teams. Here, your communication and people skills will set you apart, creating a tailored approach for each audience. Also, you will be able to contribute to the progress and deliveries of projects on Dunedin's operational wastewater treatment plants including troubleshooting, de-bottle-necking, and minor capital projects; ensuring health and safety responsibilities and quality standards are met and building relationships within the council and the wider 3 Waters Team.

About you

You'll have a relevant engineering degree with experience that demonstrates that process improvement capability and ideally, proven project management experience. Naturally, water experience would be an advantage.

Salary Range: $74,923 - $88,144
