Mo tenei turanga - about the role
The People Advisory Directorate serves as the primary point of contact for the People Branch. In this role, you will support our People Business Partners by delivering key people processes across the motu. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of HR functions, including performance management and foundational change advice, while also providing guidance on escalated queries from our People Support Coordinators.

This dynamic and fast-paced role requires someone with excellent time management skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently. You'll be confident in your own judgment and have a strong sense of when to escalate issues. Collaborating with stakeholders and managers across New Zealand, you'll need exceptional skills in building and maintaining relationships remotely.
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will:
- Proven experience in providing people support at the Advisor level
- Experience working in large, complex, and unionised organisations, preferably within a government organisation
- A strong understanding of employment law
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- A degree in HR or a related field is desirable
