What you’ll do Our Finance team provides an agile, connected finance function across our New Zealand and international offices. We are seeking an early-career Accountant to play a crucial role in maintaining timely and accurate financial reporting and administration while supporting our dynamic finance team. This role offers a broad scope of financial responsibilities and a strong development pathway toward professional certification (CA or CPA). You’ll play a key role in maintaining timely and accurate financial reporting and administration, supporting both business-as-usual and project work.
Key responsibilities include: - Delivering monthly finance tasks and reporting in line with timetables, with a strong focus on month-end reconciliations of accounts, ledgers, and fixed assets. - Managing the fixed assets process across NZTE - Managing monthly accruals and verifying financial statements for accuracy. - Supporting and contributing to special projects, including carbon reporting initiatives. - Providing training and support to finance users across NZTE’s global offices to ensure a high standard of user experience. - Maintaining finance systems and identifying errors or opportunities for improvement. - Supporting Accounts Payable and Receivable functions as needed.
What you’ll bring: You’re a self-starter who thrives on identifying opportunities for improvement and bringing fresh thinking to the table. You’ll also bring: - A degree in accounting and be on the development path to CA or CPA certification. - Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, and financial systems. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration. - Accuracy and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. - A customer-focused mindset and eagerness to contribute to accounting projects and wider finance function support.
