An exciting opportunity awaits a full time Bar Supervisor at our rooftop bar Sunset, at Sudima Auckland City.
Influences from beloved bars from around the world have been woven together to create Sunset’s tapestry of inspiration; one thread from a bustling rooftop terrace in Mumbai, one from a speakeasy in Budapest, another from a hotel bar on Manhattan’s High Line. A delicious cocktail of global influences, cultures and talents come together to create this popular space.Cocktails, delicious food and comfortable surroundings all best enjoyed with Sunset's expansive rooftop view of the city and harbour.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a leadership role in a busy restaurant or bar, a passion for exceeding guests' expectations, great knowledge of wine varieties, and well versed culinary art of making cocktails and mixed alcoholic drinks.
You will lead, motivate and inspire a team ensuring that exceptional experiences are front of mind for both the team and our guests.Working alongside the Bar Manager you will be able to add your experience and flair to the bar through collaboration and team work while having the support of an experienced team.
Based at Sudima Auckland City, this role is permanent full-time with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.
The pay rate is $30.60 per hour.
Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa
- Demonstrates and encourages exceptional guest service
- Manages, motivates and leads the bar team
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Control operational costs
- Supervises the daily operation of the bar and bar staff
- Controls the scheduling and rostering of staff
- Maintains quality standards for the service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Trains and develops Bar Attendants and other bar staff
- Ensures bar staff comply with all licensing and registration requirements
- Conducts venue opening and closing procedures, including the handling of cash
- Oversees the stocktake and inventory control of the venue
- May prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
Requirements
About you | Ko koe tēnei
- NZQF Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2).
- OR At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the qualification.
- GM certificate
- A can-do attitude and strong leadership skills
- Passion for the hospitality industry, demonstrated with sound product knowledge
- Understanding of Sale of Liquor Act
- Excellent wine, beer and cocktail knowledge
- Highly organised and plans ahead
- Committed to continuing professional development Flexibility to work outside normal hours as required. (Which may include early morning starts, late finishes,weekends and public holidays).
