We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Barista to join our BNZ team at 80 Queen St.

What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
Preparing consistently high-quality coffee and beverages with speed, precision and care.
Maintaining a clean, organised, and well stocked coffee station throughout the day.
Setting up and dialing in coffee equipment at the start of each shift.
Working closely with the Hospitality Manager and the Café Lead front of house team to deliver smooth, seamless, customer service.
Supporting the team during peak times and multitasking across service, cleaning, and prep tasks.
Offering input into coffee quality, service flow, and ongoing improvement of café operations.
Communicating closely with the Hospitality Manager and Café Lead to ensure smooth and efficient service of day to day operations.
Resolving customer concerns professionally and promptly, and ensuring a positive experience for all of our colleagues at BNZ.
Maintain strict compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
What projects / mahi (work) will the candidate be working on now and into next year?
In your first six months as the barista you will play a key role in shaping the daily rhythm and service standards of the café. You will help set up the coffee station, fine tuning work flows, and established consistent quality and every single cup. As part of the opening team, you will work closely with the Hospitality Manager and Café Lead to create a warm, inclusive team culture, build rapport with our colleagues, and adapt to the pace and flow of a new operation. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional coffee and service while helping lay the foundation for long term success here at BNZ.

What skills will be beneficial?
Minimum 2 years experience as a café lead FOH, restaurant, or catering environment.
Experience leading a team to deliver service excellence.
Proven ability to prepare diverse, high-quality dishes at volume.
Strong understanding of New Zealand food safety legislation and commercial kitchen operations.
