We are currently recruiting for a Bottle Machine Operator to join our team in Visy Glass, Penrose, Auckland. This is a permanent, full-time role, working in the Hot End of the manufacturing plant on a rolling shift pattern, over 4 days on and 4 days off, with opportunities for over time. There may be an opportunity to extend the contract depending on the business needs.
Reporting to the Shift Manager your role is to support the Forming Service Department to ensure that the company continues to produce and pack high quality glass ware safely and efficiently. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Operating all I.S Forming Machines at the hot end of the manufacturing plant.
- Monitoring, inspecting and adjusting equipment as required.
- Assist the Job Change Team, with changing the moulds and setting up the I.S Machines to producing our next glass packaging order.
- Ensuring the quality of the glass packaging meets the specifications required of Visy Glass.
- Maintain and ensure all Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
What you will bring to the team:
As our new Machine Operator, you will have prior experience, operating machinery within an industrial/manufacturing environment, preferably within a similar environmental condition as the Hot End (i.e. Steel industry). You will be a team player with a strong work ethic, who has good written and communication skills and processes a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices. Along with the following;
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating roster – 2 days/2 nights, 4 days off!
- You will be mechanically mindset - Mechanical Trade certificate is highly desirable.
- Quality control and defect analysis- You will have good attention to detail and an eye for accuracy.
- Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
