Job Description:
The Cake Decorator will be responsible for the preparation, decoration, and presentation of a variety of cheesecakes and specialty cakes in accordance with the shop’s brand and customer expectations. The role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and knowledge of cake design techniques.
Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, bake and decorate a wide range of cheesecakes and specialty cakes using icings, toppings, glazes, fondant, piping, and edible decorations.
- Follow specific design and presentation standards to ensure consistency in product appearance and quality.
- Create custom cake designs based on customer specifications and special occasions (e.g., birthdays, weddings, celebrations).
- Mix and prepare various types of icing and fillings using precise recipes and measurements.
- Maintain high levels of food hygiene and workplace cleanliness in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory of decorating supplies and ingredients, and assist in ordering as required.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure cakes are ready for decoration in a timely manner.
- Stay current with cake decorating trends and incorporate innovative techniques into product offerings.
- Train junior staff where applicable, in basic decorating techniques and shop standards.
- Interact with customers when needed to discuss design requests and provide product recommendations.
Requirements- 2 years of work experience or a level 4 qualification
