The Role
In this key position, you'll prepare competitive cost estimates and tender submissions, supporting our Contract Managers to secure and deliver profitable contracts. You'll play a critical role in ensuring SouthRoads' projects meet client expectations while aligning with operational capabilities.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate project estimates based on engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Prepare detailed take-offs and quantity measurements for civil infrastructure projects.
- Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for cost accuracy.
- Support the development of tender schedules, construction programs, and methodology inputs.
- Assist in pricing variations, contract claims, and budget monitoring to enhance future project accuracy.
What You'll Bring:
- At least 3-5 years in estimating or quantity surveying within civil construction.
- Proficiency in software like Benchmark and Excel, with a strong understanding of NZS contracts and market rates.
- Strong numerical and risk assessment abilities with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
Desirable Attributes:
Familiarity with public sector tendering (e.g., NZTA, local councils).
Experience in innovative procurement methods such as design-build or ECI.
