About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at Bay of Plenty Hauora a Toi and live in the beautiful Bay of Plenty. We are seeking a passionate Dietitian with an interest in supporting others to provide outstanding care to our acute inpatients.
This is a fixed term full-time position covering parental leave from 25th July 2025 to 30th May 2026. The position is based in Tauranga, with the potential opportunity to provide cover to our colleagues based in Whakatāne at times. The position is ideal for a clinician with prior experience working in an acute inpatient setting, looking to take the next step in their career.
You’ll join a dedicated and collaborative team who provide dietetic care to adult and paediatric patients across both inpatients and outpatient settings.
Alongside managing a clinical caseload, the inpatient adult clinical lead dietitian will oversee professional and clinical supervision, support the coordination of service delivery, and play a key role in driving quality improvement and service development initiatives.

About you
- Demonstrated experience in acute adult inpatient care
- Prior experience in supporting or leading others is highly desirable
- Proficiency in the Nutrition Care Process and associated terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong teamwork skills with a focus on achieving patient and whānau-centred outcomes
- Commitment to evidence-based practice
- A strong focus on equity, particularly in supporting Māori health outcomes
The service offers ongoing professional development for team members and appropriate external learning opportunities by application. The Annual Practicing Certificate will be reimbursed, and a professional association membership fee is paid annually.
