The Role:
Health NZ Te Whatu Ora – Counties Manukau is seeking a highly skilled and motivated nurse to take on the role of Clinical Nurse Co-ordinator. This is a unique opportunity to influence the coordination and delivery of elective orthopaedic surgery, ensuring that our patients receive safe, timely, and patient-centred care in alignment with Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) principles.
As the Clinical Nurse Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and coordinating the elective orthopaedic surgery patient pathway.
- Ensuring optimal patient preparation and flow across the primary, secondary, and tertiary interface.
- Prioritising surgical waitlists in alignment with clinical needs and Ministry of Health requirements.
- Working in partnership with surgical teams, schedulers, theatres, and anaesthetic services to maximise operating theatre utilisation.
- Acting as a key liaison between patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate safe and efficient care.
- Contributing to theatre scheduling meetings, list accuracy, and rescheduling cancelled surgeries.
- Driving clinical leadership, innovation, and service improvement initiatives within the orthopaedic team.

About You:
- NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- 4+ years surgical nursing experience in NZ (post registration), preferably in orthopaedics
- Relevant post graduate qualification
- Excellent communication skills
