About the Role

The Clinical Trials Coordinator is responsible for the co-ordination of assigned clinical trials to achieve maximum recruitment, patient screening and compliance with high quality data reported in a timely fashion.

As part of the busy team, you will be responsible for providing and overseeing nursing care, and the coordination of care to Oncology patients participating in clinical trials. You will support the sponsor and clinicians with the tasks associated with the implementation and compliance with protocols and guidelines for the clinical trial. You will assist and support your Canterbury Oncology Research Unit (CORU) team members, Oncology clinical staff as well as patients and their families with information, education and assistance regarding specific clinical trials.

About the Service

Canterbury Oncology Research Unit (CORU) is an integral part of the Oncology service employing 8 staff members who coordinate research in oncology. CORU works closely with other clinical teams to make a difference in people - s lives by working on cutting edge trials.

Our team has an international reputation with most of our trials being part of worldwide research. The team is based at Manawa building and has facilities in the Oncology department in Christchurch hospital.

  • Research experience or advanced Oncology knowledge
  • A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification
  • Excellent communication skills and time management
  • Ability to work in a small busy multi-disciplinary team
  • Resilient and Adaptive
  • Honest and Courageous
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
