Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Acute Pain
  • Fixed Term - Due to Parental Leave - Commencing Mid-September
  • Part time, 40 hours per fortnight. (0.5FTE)

About the Role

This focus of this role is to provide clinical expertise, working as an educator and leader in the pursuit of clinical excellence in the delivery of patient centered care.

As part of the CNS team, you will be working collaboratively with multidisciplinary health professionals within contemporary models of care, to lead improvements in Acute Pain Management and care. The role is instrumental in supporting the wider health sector in South Canterbury to become an effective customer driven, safety conscious, quality service which reflects the needs of the local community. There is also an element of complex case management within the acute pain portfolio.

  • Success factors for role include:
  • Nursing Council of NZ registration, and current APC A relevant postgraduate qualification or be willing to work towards this qualification
  • Develop and maintain Senior RN Nurse PDRP
  • Significant relevant clinical experience and proven critical thinking ability
  • Ability to work collaboratively with health professionals and as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Excellent clinical assessment skills and role model for contemporary clinical practice
  • Current New Zealand Drivers License
  • The Right to Work in New Zealand
