About The Role
The Adult Sleep Service at Te Toka Tumai Auckland is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Clinical Sleep Physiologist to join our team.
This is a 12-month fixed term position, working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday
The primary duties of the position include (but not limited to):
- Performing sleep tests
- Initiating and titrating Positive Airway Pressure and Non-invasive Ventilation therapy
- Educating and supporting patients on treatment.
This position will include shift work and expected to work across different locations where our services are provided.

About the Team/Service
The Adult Sleep Service provides a multi-level platform for assessing Sleep-related and Sleep disordered breathing (SDB) in adults. It is a regional provider for Level 1 diagnostic sleep testing, and also carries out Level 3 and 4 sleep studies. Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), and ventilatory support for patients requiring Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) represent specialty areas. The service works together with health providers from other regions in Auckland and New Zealand, including primary care providers and other providers of respiratory and sleep services for the purposes of health care provision and education/information.
Part of the Adult Medical Services Directorate at Te Toka Tumai Auckland, our team is composed of experienced clinical sleep physiologists and clinical nurse specialists working across two different locations and alongside other health professionals.
About You:
A suitable applicant to this position will ideally have:
- Excellent self-management and organisational skills
- BSc or similar in relevant field
- Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Technology (endorsed in sleep), or a commitment to complete a relevant post-graduate qualification
- New Zealand Sleep Certification examination (NZSCE) or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification or equivalent competency assessment
- Be eligible for registration or have a current New Zealand Clinical Physiologist Registration Board (CPRB) Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
- Relevant work experience
