Te āheinga: The opportunity
This role offers a dynamic and supportive environment to make a meaningful impact on student success and clinical education.
- Supportive Environment: Work closely with the Clinical Placements Coordinator and healthcare lecturers.
- Administrative Leadership: Develop and implement tracking systems for student placements and progress.
- Manage information and logistics for student clinical hours.
- Agreement Management: Oversee clinical contracts and service agreements.
- Student Progress Oversight: Track student progress, manage enrolments, and support at-risk students.
- State Exam Support: Assist students with Nursing Council applications and clinical transcripts.
- Access and Logins: Coordinate access cards and logins for clinical placements.
This role is a permanent part-time position, comprising 18.75 hours per week.

You'll have:
- Demonstrated experience in organizing complex placement management within a diverse environment
- Advanced interpersonal skills with ability to interpret individual needs against business needs
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Strong communicator in both written and verbal formats
- Ability to work effectively in an environment subject to limited supervision requiring independent decision making
- Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
- An understanding or desire to learn te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and the values and practices of kaupapa Māori
- Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
Desirable
- Knowledge of clinical components of practice nursing education
- Knowledge of the principles, practices and methods within a clinical education setting

In general, we can influence the community of Waitakere through the support/training of nursing students who will then be able to support the maintenance of physical/mental/emotional health for people in Waitakere and wider communities. Health New Zealand requires more Registered Nurses to be trained and committed to the Waitakere community to ensure that there are sufficient resources to support the growing healthcare needs in this area.
