About the Role
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Te Waipounamu regional team as a Community & Whānau Wellbeing Team Lead Nelson Marlborough
The primary purpose of the role is team management, delivery, performance, and development with our team of health promotion advisors. It involves operational leadership, resource utilisation, and coordinating programme planning, delivery, evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and reporting across various programme areas.
The people and performance responsibilities of the role work in collaboration with the technical and professional responsibilities of other regional and local roles such as Chief Regional Health Promotion Advisor, Regional Health Promotion Development and Delivery Lead, and relevant professional leadership roles.
The Team Lead role may also deliver operational work and have responsibility for work programmes relevant to their professional skill set depending on the size of the team they are responsible for.

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. About you
You are an experienced leader able to nurture and develop a team to make them feel valued. You're open to new ideas and create a culture where individuals at all levels bring their ideas on how to ‘do it better' to the table. You're able to work collaboratively across the sector and organisational boundaries to influence outcomes.
- Tertiary qualification / degree in Public Health or a related field or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in team leadership and management, preferably in a public health context
- 3+ years' experience in a public health service delivery role
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
- Willingness to travel across Te Tauihu, the Nelson Marlborough district
- Clean New Zealand Drivers' Licence
