Very High Needs (VHN) is a community-based service that supports people with disabilities to live everyday lives in everyday places. We work alongside individuals and their families to create flexible, personalised support that reflects their interests, strengths, and aspirations.
We're currently looking for someone to support a sports-loving individual—so if you enjoy an active lifestyle, being outdoors, and sharing your energy with others, this could be a great fit!
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll provide 1:1 support to help someone:
- Access community events and services (e.g. joining local clubs, attending cultural activities)
- Build confidence and independence (e.g. learning to use public transport, managing money, making friends)
- Explore educational opportunities (e.g. finding and enrolling in local courses)
What We're Looking For:
- A Full Driver's Licence
- An interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification - we can support you to achieve this while you work
- Ideally, the ability to drive a van
- Experience supporting people with disabilities and/or challenging behaviours
- A warm, reliable communicator who builds strong relationships with families and the people you support
- Physically active and comfortable participating in sports and recreational activities
- Confident using technology to stay connected and support others
- Abie to pass a NZ police check
