We're Hiring: Chill and Grill Limited is looking for cooks to join the team in helping us expand and offer more to the public.
Pay Rate: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
A minimum of 30 hours per week is gauranteed
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes as per the menu and food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control.
- Ensure quality control, proper food storage, labelling, and rotation.
- Support menu planning and contribute to new dish ideas.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including allergen controls.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely service.
- Train junior kitchen staff when required.
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements:
- A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification (e.g., Certificate in Cookery) or overseas equivalent.
- Alternatively, at least two years of relevant work experience, which may include prior experience working in a cafe/restaurant/foodtruck etc, may substitute for the formal qualification.
- A Bachelors in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management may be considered but is strictly not a requirement for this role.
- Basic understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures is expected.
- Sound knowledge of food hygiene, preparation, and kitchen safety standards.
- A positive attitude and willingness to take direction from senior kitchen staff or management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
