Brar & Sandhu Limited is seeking dedicated and reliable full-time Courier Delivery Drivers to join our team, servicing the Nelson region and surrounding areas, who will be responsible for the following duties:
- Ensure safe practices on the road and during loading/unloading of goods.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and fellow drivers to coordinate deliveries.
- Secure and stack items properly in the delivery vehicle.
- Meet scheduled delivery deadlines.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks as needed.
- Load and unload items for delivery.
- Track shipments and deliveries, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Obtain customer signatures and handle queries or complaints professionally.
- Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes using GPS or maps.
- Verify orders before departure and upon delivery to ensure all items are accounted for.
- Keep detailed records and reports of deliveries.
The candidate will be required to work at least 30 hours per week and be paid between $29.66 to $31.99 per hour.
Other important requirements:
- A clean, full Class 1 driver’s license (DG endorsement is ideal but not mandatory).
- No prior experience is necessary—training will be provided.
- Available for early morning starts.
- Available to Work on weekends.
- Physically fit and able to handle a physically demanding role.
- Reliable, with a strong work ethic and a professional, tidy appearance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to the business's evolving needs.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, with good stamina and dexterity.
- Excellent attention to detail and trustworthiness.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
- A clean police record with an ability to clear MOJ check.
