Do yourself a power of good
At Vector, we’re undertaking a major transformation—investing $4.6 billion over the next decade to modernise our electricity distribution network and integrate cutting-edge digital technologies. As part of our Symphony Strategy, this investment will enhance customer service and build a more robust, reliable network for the future.
To support this bold vision, our digital architecture must be as innovative and future-focused as our physical infrastructure.
The role
As a Cyber Security Analyst in our Security Operations Centre (SOC), you’ll play a key role in protecting critical infrastructure by identifying, investigating, and resolving security incidents—approximately 25% of your time—while focusing primarily on continuous improvement of our security systems, protocols, and risk posture.
Working alongside a high-performing team of specialists in automation, incident response, and vulnerability management, you’ll support detection and response across cloud, data, and operational technology environments. This role offers a unique mix of hands-on security operations and proactive system enhancement, with rotating weeks focused on incident response and improvement initiatives.
Please note, there is no requirements for 24/7 monitoring in this role as this is an outsourced function for us here at Vector.

- You’ll be experienced with firewalls (functionality and maintenance), web and email security, endpoint security and SIEM, and proficient in Python, Powershell and/or Go
- Akamai, Check Point, Rapid7 and AWS experience are advantageous, as is control systems security experience
- You’ll have a track record of taking ownership of problems to see them through to resolution.
- You’ll be a confident and clear communicator with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally, with the capability of translating complex technical terms into everyday language.
