What will you be doing?

Your main purpose is to contribute to the success of Tower by delivering the Data Platform capabilities and services, as well as improving our existing platforms and engineering practices.


Setting you up for success

You will be successful in the role by owning the solutions and building them in a secure, reliable, and scalable manner.

Your mandate:

  • Develop end to end data pipelines using technologies such as Talend, DBT and Azure
  • Perform duties as a Snowflake Administrator. This includes role, schema and database creation as well as MFA security and AAD
  • Translate functional requirements into technical specifications
  • An understanding of data architecture, data models, data migration, integration, analysis, and visualisation
  • Exposure to ETL/ELT and Governance tools
  • Strong hands-on experience delivering database solutions using advanced SQL, TSQL, Python etc
  • Knowledge of Cloud Data Warehousing technologies such as Snowflake and Azure

What you'll need

  • At least 4 years' experience in the Data Engineering/modelling space.
  • An understanding of the general insurance or financial services market would be beneficial
  • Data Consulting or professional services experience is an advantage
  • Proven experience work with Snowflake Administration and Development tools - SnowSQL, Snowflake
  • Have a 'customer first mind-set' and a bias for getting things done with an exceptional problem-solving skill
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to develop new data pipelines using Talend, DBT or equivalent tool
  • High attention to detail and with the ability to analyse data using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Self-confidence and professional manner when working with key stakeholders as you understand and interpret requirements.
