New World Metro Queen Street are seeking a Deli and Café 2IC / Lead Supervisor
You will play an integral part in our mission to be the best grocery store in Auckland CBD, continuously delivering an awesome shopping experience for our customers.
The Role:
- Working alongside the Deli and Cafe Manager leading a team of 8 across the Service Deli and Café, with a key focus on development
- Developing and executing an offer that provides our customers what they want, when they want it – creativity is a must!
- Maintaining compliance with Food Safety, and Safety & Wellbeing of employees
- Managing stock levels and wastage within agreed targets
- Ensure outstanding presentation standards of our offer and staff at all times
- Build relationships with the wider team to get the very best results
We are looking for a Service Deli Manager who can:
- Grow into leading a successful team, with a focus on developing your people and yourself to be the best they can be.

Understands the importance of providing an outstanding product and service to our customers, inspiring them to return time and time again
- Ensure standards exceed our customers expectations every time
- Continue to meet and deliver compliance regulations to a high standard
- Wants to establish a career in Supermarkets, with this role being an entrance to management.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Leadership: Your ability to lead a team, with a strong focus on development is essential
- Communication: Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience: Prior experience in the food or retail industry is preferable.
- Customer Service: You must understand the importance of delivering superb customer service every time
- Innovation: Courage to create and trial new products, and ways of working
- Technical Skills: SAP experience is a plus.
- Attitude: A positive, “lead by example” attitude.
- Safety Knowledge: Understanding the importance of Food Safety and Health and Safety regulations.
