Lumino PerioCARE is on the lookout for a Dental Assistant to join the team on a fixed-term (Maternity Cover) role starting in September 2025 until June 2026 !
PerioCARE is a specialist periodontist practice. We specialize in the:
- prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease (also known as gum disease)
- placement of dental implants.
The Role
PerioCARE in Auckland is looking for a reliable and positive surgical dental assistant to join our highly-experienced team.
You will be responsible for:
- Chairside assisting during dental procedures
- Invite patients through to the respective surgeries when they arrive
- Sterilisation of instruments
- Maintaining accurate patient records and clinical documentation
- Changeover of rooms in between patient appointments
- Monitoring supply of dental materials and filing of invoices
- Sedation monitoring desirable and qualification
- Unpacking ordered dental materials as they arrive and entering materials received onto ordering portal
- Providing fast-paced, empathetic patient care
The Hours for this role :
- Tuesday 7:45 am – 5:30 pm
- Wednesday 7:00 am – 7:30 pm
- Thursday 7:45 am – 5:30 pm
- Friday 7:45 am – 4:30 pm

Qualifications
- Previous experience as a dental assistant is preferred but not a prerequisite, as we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Great in learning new computer software
- Strong work ethic - meticulous work habits, punctual, reliable and excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well in a team and take initiative.
- Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
- A warm, engaging and approachable nature.
