About the Role
Health New Zealand - Wairarapa's Community Nursing team is looking for a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our District Nursing team. The district nursing team provides nursing care, advice and support to patients and their whanau across various healthcare settings.
We have a permanent part-time position working 72 hours per fortnight (0.9 FTE) (covering Monday to Sunday) rostered and rotating shifts working across the whole of the Wairarapa region. The hours of work include early mornings and early evenings, there are two shifts 8am - 4.30pm and 10.30am to 7pm working Monday through Sunday, including statutory holidays.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Community Nursing teams delivers community and outpatient services from two locations, based in Masterton and Greytown. They provide care to people in their own homes and in outpatient clinics, and work closely alongside specialist Health NZ services, primary care and community providers. Clients cover the age spectrum and present with a diverse range of needs that require community nursing care, specialist nursing management and / or short-term home supports.

About you
Community Nurses provide assessment and support, develop and review care plans, deliver clinical care and follow-up patients requiring ongoing care in their homes and in our wound clinic. You therefore need to have good interpersonal skills, including empathy and understanding for older people and the terminally ill, who are significant consumers of our services. You need to be willing to develop generic skills and to undertake further post basic training relevant to community-based nursing.
- Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years' postgraduate experience, preferably in a community setting current practicing certificate with Nursing Council New Zealand.
- You will be required to work across the Wairarapa; therefore, we do require applicants to have a full and valid NZ drivers' licence as well as be contactable via a mobile phone.
