Role Overview
A Dog Groomer is responsible for maintaining the hygiene, appearance, and overall well-being of dogs through professional grooming services. This includes bathing, trimming, styling, and ensuring the comfort and safety of each pet during the grooming process.
Key Responsibilities
- Bathe, shampoo, condition, and dry dogs of various breeds and sizes
- Trim and style coats according to breed standards or owner preferences
- Clip nails, clean ears, and brush teeth
- Detangle and remove matted fur safely and gently
- Assess skin and coat conditions and report any health concerns to pet owners
- Administer flea and tick treatments when required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized grooming area
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming needs and aftercare
- Handle dogs with care, patience, and compassion, especially those with anxiety or special needs
