This role is part of the Wellington Transport Alliance (WTA), a partnership between Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Fulton Hogan, and WSP. The WTA oversees the maintenance and operations program for state highways and roading networks across the Greater Wellington Region, ensuring high service standards for both the community and the region's roading network.
The opportunity:
As a Driver/Operator with our WTA Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for safely operating a variety of plant on our sites. Reporting to the Leading Hand, you will be supporting the requirements of the Wellington Transport Alliance network. While this role will primarily operate in the Wairarapa, it may occasionally involve work in other locations across the Greater Wellington Region.
We have two roles available:
- 1 x nightshift position working a minimum of 40 hours from Sunday through Thursday.
- 1 x dayshift position working a minimum of 40 hours from Monday through Friday.

In addition to the above you will:
- Actively participate in pre-start meetings
- Operate plant and machinery as directed by the Leading Hand, Foreperson or Supervisor
- Ensure plant and machinery checks (e.g. tyres, oil and grease, plant prestart) and any necessary maintenance is completed before plant and/or machinery is operated
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a current class 2 licence with W,T,R endorsements (preferred)
- Have proven experience operating machinery in the civil industry
- Be reliable and hardworking
