The Duty Manager at The Oak n Ferry Pub plays a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the pub during designated shifts. You will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring high standards of customer service, managing safety and compliance, and creating a warm and welcoming environment for all guests. You will act as the senior decision-maker in the absence of the Venue Manager.
Please note: the role will include a couple of day shifts as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support all staff on duty to ensure smooth operation and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage customer service standards, responding to complaints and resolving any issues efficiently.
- Ensure the safety and security of staff, customers, and premises during operational hours.
- Open and/or close the venue according to company procedures, including cashing up and securing the premises.
- Oversee staff breaks, attendance, and task delegation during the shift.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all customers and staff.
- Coordinate with other Duty Managers and senior management to ensure effective communication and handovers.
- Provide training and support to new team members when needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or issues to the appropriate department.
- Ensure all legal and company requirements (e.g., health and safety, licensing laws) are met at all times.
