We are looking for a Qualified Electrician to join our team. In this role you will work on a variety of maintenance projects on our highways and city streets around the Wellington region up to Levin. This role will include but not be limited to general electrical work, pole replacement, street light cabling and fittings. Testing and certifying and operating machinery (EWP bucket truck etc.)  

In addition to the above you will:

• Take part in pre-start meetings and risk planning before starting work

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components for street lighting, infrastructure projects, power distribution and controls

• Provide diagnostics for electrical issues and perform timely and effective repairs

• Conduct quality checks to ensure installations and repairs meet the required standards and specifications

We're looking for someone with:

• A minimum Class 1 Full drivers' licence, Class 2 is advantageous

• NZ EWRB Registration with Full current Practicing License Endorsed Supervision

• Competent with no history of EWRB investigations

• Elevated Work Platforms, Forklift, Working at Heights certification

• First Aid & CPR (EWRB Advanced)

• Height Safety, EWP, Forklift, Crane Operation, Tag & Testing

• AWM Asset Info Collection Level 2

• Wellington Electricity Network Access Authority capable of achieving WTC1, WTC 2AR, WTC 7A or 7B

• Experience in streetlighting is essential

• Apply your knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices

• Good accountability and dedication to ensure completion of work

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

This is a permanent position located in Wellington. This position is 40 hours per week. The hourly rate range is $38 - $42 per hour.
