Background
The Northern Regional Trauma network (the ‘Network’) was established in 2013 to provide a governance structure for regional clinical audits to review care provided to trauma patients within the Northern Region and transferred between Northern district hospitals.
Regional health leaders recognised the potential for the Network to continue its development and further improve outcomes for trauma patients in the Region. The Network has developed into an operational delivery network. It has published Adult Trauma Guidelines, delivers educational programmes and information, quality improvement initiatives and regional service development initiatives to enable ongoing patient care and outcome improvement.
Role
Regional executive leadership support resourced time for a Network Clinical Lead role with project and network management support.
Suitable leads will be expected to:
- Take forward the next phase in the Network’s development making significant improvements in care and saving lives.
- Provide regional trauma services leadership, ensuring that this extends across all care settings (from prevention through to rehabilitation and long-term outcomes).
- Represent the Northern region at the National Trauma Network and other national and regional groups as appropriate.
- Lead health priorities identified nationally and regionally through Network activities to achieve the outcomes sought.
- Actively support and contribute to Network continuous quality improvement activities, network and district specific initiatives.
More about you:
You are a medical specialist holding current vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a relevant specialty area in the Trauma field, and a current Annual Practicing Certificate. Your experience in senior leadership roles provide significant knowledge and experience in the trauma service continuum and the wider health sector.
