The Role
We are looking for a skilled Tradesman Painter with at least 2 years of professional experience to join our growing team. This is a full-time permanent position, working across residential renovations, new builds, and commercial projects. We currently have one position availbale.

You’ll be part of a reliable and passionate team delivering high-quality painting services from preparation through to finishing. The role may require travel within the South Canterbury region (e.g. Timaru, Waimate, Twizel, Oamaru), and reliable transport is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surface preparation (patching, sanding, cleaning)

  • Application of primers, undercoats, and topcoats using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment

  • Working with a variety of coatings and finishes on different surfaces

  • Ensuring a clean, tidy, and safe work environment

  • Working independently and within a team on both interior and exterior jobs

  • Meeting project deadlines and maintaining a high standard of workmanship

  • Communicating with site supervisors and clients as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of proven painting experience in the trade (residential and/or commercial)

  • Strong knowledge of surface prep, finishing techniques, and product application

  • Able to interpret job specs and follow plans/instructions

  • Physically fit and capable of manual work in various environments

  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transport

  • Must be able to work full time, Monday to Friday (occasional weekend work may be required)

  • Excellent attention to detail, work ethic, and time management skills

  • Must be currently living in New Zealand or willing and able to relocate to the South Canterbury area

Nice to Have:

  • Site Safe or other relevant trade certifications

  • Experience with spray-painting systems

  • Previous experience working in teams on large-scale construction sites
