As our customer base continues to grow across New Zealand, Liebherr Maritime Cargo & Construction Division is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician. In this role, you will perform field service work on various types of cranes, including harbour mobile, crawler, and gantry cranes, as well as drilling and piling equipment.

This position covers the Oceania region, with opportunities to work throughout New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific. It is a hands-on, practical role—perfect for someone eager to promote the Liebherr brand and uphold industry-leading standards.

Key Responsibilitites

  • Major and minor service
  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting of Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical systems.
  • Inspect and test electrical and instrumentation systems and components.
  • Routine maintenance, repairs, and component replacements
  • Expand and maintain customer relationships in the field.
  • Complete service reporting and manufacturers documentation

About you

  • Trade qualified in Auto Electrical, Industrial Electrician or Diesel / Heavy Plant or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Flexibility to travel to customer sites and work over-time as required.
  • Capable of working independently in the field, problem solving in various situations.
  • Crane industry experiences desirable, although not a requirement
  • Ability to fault find and rectify hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical issues.
  • A current driver’s license
  • Commitment to maintain, and adhere to safety guidelines in the workplace
