We're currently looking for an experienced Asphalt Foreperson to join our Northern Surfacing team based in Auckland. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be part of a nationally recognised surfacing operation, working with top-tier equipment and a skilled, supportive crew.
What You'll Be Doing:
As our Asphalt Foreperson, you'll be responsible for leading asphalt paving crews on a range of projects across the Auckland region (and occasionally beyond). You'll ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard — on time and within budget.
You'll also:
- Supervise daily site operations and paving activities
- Coordinate plant, labour, and materials
- Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Maintain quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Support and mentor crew members to grow their skills
What We're Looking For:
We're after someone with a strong work ethic, a great attitude, and a passion for getting the black stuff on the ground. You'll be a natural leader who's confident running a crew and keeping things moving smoothly.
Key requirements:
- 10+ years' experience in asphalt surfacing (ideal)
- Solid knowledge of asphalt paving plant and processes
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience working with clients and stakeholders
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Basic computer literacy
- A flexible approach to hours and travel
- A sense of humour — we work hard, but we like to have fun too!
