Wellington, Wellington

  • Lead the future of Enterprise Risk policy at a bank that’s growing with purpose
  • Simplify, modernise, and shape bold, strategic decisions
  • Join a values-led organisation where your voice drives real impact
  • 6-month Fixed Term Contract based in Auckland or Wellington

Kiwibank is on a journey to simplify, modernise, and transform the way we work — and we’re looking for someone who’s excited to play a big role in that.

Kiwibank is undergoing a significant transformation, with a clear mandate to strengthen our capital position, enhance our competitiveness, and set ourselves up for long-term success. This period of change brings exciting opportunities, as we invest in innovation, evolve our ways of working, and shape the future of banking in New Zealand.

If you're looking for a dynamic environment where you can make an impact, now is the perfect time to join us.

Kō tātou tēnei. Hei kawe i ngā mahi kia tutuki | This is us. Where making an impact matters.
We’re looking for a Frameworks and Policy Lead to take charge of our Enterprise Risk Management Framework policy suite. This is pivotal, strategic work within our Enterprise Risk team—perfect for someone with a deep understanding of risk and governance in banking or financial services.

You’ll lead the simplification and streamlining of our Enterprise Risk frameworks, policies and standards. It’s not just about writing policy, it’s about making risk management easier for the business by designing policies that are clear, practical and aligned with our strategy.

Simplify the complex, bring fresh thinking, and challenge the status quo to ensure our policy suite is fit-for-purpose, future-proofed, and support a culture of informed decision-making.

What you'll be doing:

  • Simplifying and streamlining our Enterprise Risk policies, standards and frameworks.
  • Reviewing and editing policy documents using plain English principles, making sure they’re clear, accessible, and customer focused.
  • Working closely with stakeholders across Risk functions and the business, to consult, gather feedback, and land well-informed documents that will be easy to implement and apply on an ongoing basis.
  • Thinking critically and strategically, connecting the dots between policy, process, and the bigger picture.

Ko tātou tēnei. Kia hāpai i ō pūkenga | This is us. Where your expertise matters.

You’ll have a solid background in risk management, policy or governance, ideally within a bank or financial services environment. More importantly, you’ll be someone who’s confident navigating complexity and influencing across the business. We’re looking for someone with:

  • A proven track record in risk, policy leadership or governance in financial services or banking.
  • A strong understanding of risk frameworks, banking regulation and industry standards.
  • Capable of turning strategy or intent into workable, practical policy.
  • Comfortable working across a wide range of stakeholders and balancing competing views to reach strong outcomes.
  • A critical thinker who’s confident questioning how things are done and pushing for better.
  • Proactive and curious, you know how to build strong relationships and aren’t afraid to reach out and get conversations started.
  • Skilled at editing and simplifying complex documents, with strong plain English writing ability.
  • Known for your attention to detail and ability to keep things on track.

This is a unique opportunity to shape Risk policies at a bank that’s committed to making a difference for everyday Kiwi. If you’re excited by the idea of transforming policy, helping Kiwibank grow, and seeing your work have real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
