Job Description
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health and Safety Manager to lead and manage all aspects of our health and safety programs. You will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation, and fostering a strong culture of safety throughout the organisation.
This role requires a hands-on safety evolution approach focusing on new ways to manage health and safety processes and encouraging innovative ideas to manage risks.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards.
- Lead investigations into incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to staff on all health and safety matters.
- Report on health and safety performance, presenting data and recommendations to senior management and Board.
- Act as the key point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.
- Promote a positive safety culture across all levels of the business
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A relevant qualification in Health and Safety.
- At least 5 years experience at a business partner level or higher role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of current HSE legislation, standards, and best practices is required. Knowledge of the Australian Work Health and Safety Act is an advantage.
- Proven experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
This role is a full-time position working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday based at our head office on Tidal Rd, Mangere. While some flexibility is available, given the nature of the role, it is important that you are available onsite. This is a group role and so travel to Australia will be required.
