Are you passionate about stormwater infrastructure and eager to contribute to innovative solutions? We are currently seeking an Intermediate Civil / Environmental Engineer to join our Design Office team that sits under our Healthy Waters & Flood Resilience department. (please note, the job title is known internally as Healthy Waters Intermediate Specialist)
In this developing technical role, you will support the design and delivery of a diverse range of stormwater infrastructure projects.
Your focus will be on achieving quality outcomes, ensuring health & safety, and managing risks effectively. We are looking for someone who can foster innovation and build strong relationships with all stakeholders, aiming for best practices and customer-centric results.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Act as Engineer’s Representative Assistant for Healthy Waters projects.
- Incorporate sustainable thinking and continuous improvement in every project.
- Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal stakeholders.
- Promote a friendly, cooperative environment and respect others' contributions.
- Support Auckland Council’s vision and mission through various initiatives.
- Adhere to and promote Health & Safety requirements and initiatives.

You are an emerging talent in the field of civil and/or environmental engineering, ready to make your mark with your growing proficiency.
You thrive in team environments, leveraging your excellent interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and build strong relationships.
Your communication skills are top-notch, allowing you to convey ideas clearly and effectively. Adaptability is your forte, enabling you to navigate and embrace change with confidence and ease.
You will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil / Environmental) or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- 2+ years experience in three waters infrastructure sector or equivalent.
- Starting to work towards registered/chartered status, or membership of a relevant professional body.
- Experience in use of AutoCAD, Civil3D or equivalent, and Microsoft Office applications.
- A full and clean NZ drivers’ licence.
