Shelter Renovation Limited is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Helper/Assistant to join our team in Whangarei, Northland region. The candidate may also be required to travel within the Northland region to perform their duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting Cabinet Makers in the installation, assembly, and adjustment of kitchen cabinets, drawers, benchtops, and related fittings.
- Conducting a variety of minor repairs and general maintenance tasks to support the overall functionality and appearance of kitchen renovation worksites.
- Preparing and cleaning work areas before, during, and after renovation activities to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient workspace.
- Performing basic interior surface repair tasks, such as sanding, filling gaps, and touch- up painting or plastering around kitchen fixtures and cabinetry.
- Helping to assemble and dismantle kitchen units, appliances, splashbacks, and fittings under the guidance of the Cabinet Makers.
- Maintaining tools, machinery, and renovation equipment in clean, safe, and working order through regular inspection and basic upkeep.
- Assisting with the measurement, marking, and cutting of materials, including timber panels and laminate, as directed by Cabinet Makers.
- Transporting cabinetry components, tools, and supplies to and from renovation sites and assisting in their proper placement and storage.
- Supporting minor external or preparatory tasks such as sweeping, waste removal, and clearing debris to maintain tidy and hazard-free kitchen work zones.
- Promptly responding to instructions or requests from site supervisors, project managers, or Cabinet Makers to aid efficient project progress.
- Following all health and safety regulations to ensure personal and team safety, and reporting any hazards, repair needs, or safety issues for timely resolution.
The candidate will be required to work at least 30 hours per week and be paid between $25 to $30 per hour.
Other important requirements:
- Able to start work as early as 6:30 AM
- Availability to work from Monday to Sunday (Rostered shifts)
- A valid driver's licence is required.
