We’re looking for a hands-on Integration Engineer to deliver and support end-to-end integrations across a wide range of systems and data sources. This is a foundational role for an organisation undergoing transformation. You will work closely with business stakeholders, application teams, and infrastructure to design, build, and support integrations that enable data flow, automation, and improved business performance.
The ideal candidate is platform-agnostic, capable of working with REST/SOAP APIs, flat files, databases, and legacy or modern systems alike. You will also play a key role in documenting standards, uplifting integration maturity, and ensuring operational support.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Integration Delivery
Translate business requirements into technical integration designs.
Develop, test, and deploy reliable, performant integrations between internal and external systems.
Work with APIs (REST, SOAP), databases (SQL), message queues, flat files, and cloud services.
Build data mappings and transformations to support real-time or batch flows.
2. Integration Platform Ownership
Use and/or enhance existing integration tools (e.g., custom scripts, middleware, MuleSoft, Azure Logic Apps, SSIS, or similar).
Maintain secure and reusable integration components.
Assist in selecting future integration platforms or services based on evolving needs.
3. Operational Support & Documentation
Monitor integrations in production and respond to failures or data mismatches.
Document interface specs, data contracts, error handling, and system dependencies.
Collaborate with IT support and business users to resolve incidents or improve reliability.
4. Technical Uplift & Continuous Improvement
Recommend improvements to integration design, monitoring, or exception handling.
Help define integration standards and good practices.
Contribute to API catalogues, interface libraries, and internal technical guides.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe - About you:
Extensive experience in integration development across diverse systems and protocols.
Solid grasp of data formats (JSON, XML, CSV), REST/SOAP APIs, and SQL.
Experience delivering full lifecycle integrations: requirement analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, support.
Exposure to one or more integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Azure Logic Apps, Dell Boomi, Informatica, SSIS). (Desirable)
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and common services (e.g., Event Grid, S3, Functions, etc.). (Desirable)
Familiarity with DevOps practices, Git, scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell), or containerisation. (Desirable)
Prior experience working with healthcare, public sector, or legacy enterprise systems a bonus. (Desirable)
