As an Intelligence Support Analyst, you will develop and use your excellent skills to manage high-level information and conduct processes that supports the intelligence group and MBIE in protecting New Zealand from risks and realising opportunities to grow the country for us all.

Intelligence Support Analysts work in partnership across the MBIE Intelligence and Country Research (MICR) team to coordinate, collect, collate, and manage information for intelligence and research purposes, contributing to intelligence work that impacts MBIE's business and New Zealand's national security systems. You will be an intelligence practitioner who can apply intelligence principles and fundamentals to particular portfolios, developing areas of specialisation and intelligence experience.



To do this effectively you must be comfortable in your ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders that ensure your customers get the intelligence services they need in a timely manner.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks.
  • Sound attention to detail with a problem-solving and analytical approach and excellent judgement.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work.
  • A collaborative and action-oriented approach.
  • Ability to adapt within a dynamic environment.

The following may be an advantage:

  • Experience in a relevant intelligence, research, or information service field.
  • Experience in extracting and collating data.
  • Knowledge of security and the management of classified or sensitive information.
  • A strong educational background (preferably to a tertiary qualification level), or comparable relevant administrative experience in intelligence, research, or law enforcement and/or experience working in a team support role within a large and complex public sector organisation.

For your application to be considered you MUST be a New Zealand Citizen or have New Zealand Permanent Residency (this is the next step after residency).
