Are you passionate about shaping the future of social work practice and developing the next generation of qualified social workers?
Do you enjoy the challenge of working in a demanding yet rewarding environment?
If your answer is yes to these questions, we've got the perfect role for you at Manukau Institute of Technology. We seek a highly motivated, creative and practice experienced individual to deliver dynamic and effective learning on our applied Social Work programmes. The role will cover teaching on the Bachelor of Applied Social Work degree, and/or the Graduate Certificate in Cross-Cultural Supervision as well as working with the Placement/Fieldwork Co-ordinator to manage student industry placements.
You will need to have strong organisational and time management skills, be a self-starter with a good sense of humour, patience and flexibility. The ability to work as part of a team whilst being adept at using your own initiative and maintaining strong relationships with service providers are key requirements. You will also have experience and be committed to working in a bi-cultural and multicultural environment which includes tertiary teaching experience or facilitation with adults in face to face, blended and online environments.
The successful applicant must be a fully registered social worker with a current annual practising certificate (APC) with SWRB who holds a Master's level qualification (or at minimum a Post Graduate Diploma); or a Social Work Bachelor degree and has demonstrable, relevant and suitable professional experience. The ideal applicant will have a tertiary teaching qualification and/or significant facilitation experience or be willing to work towards this. Experience in or a willingness to participate in programme development is a must. The successful applicant will need to be flexible regarding days and hours due to the potential of meetings to deliver course content, online and in class during some evenings and weekends.
