Maintenance and Projects Team Leader

Mō te tūnga | About the role:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced leader to oversee our maintenance team and drive the delivery of refurbishment and minor capital works across our properties based in Invercargill, Gore and Frankton. This hands-on role combines leadership, project coordination, and contractor management, ensuring our facilities are safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose.

This is a full time position with an on call roster component.

Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities for the Team Leader position include, but are not limited to:

• Providing leadership and support to the maintenance team
• Overseeing the preventative, programmed and emergency maintenance is carried out on time and within budget
• Ensuring compliance with legislative and company policies/procedures
• Building strong relationships and supporting team members’ development
• Actively initiating and supporting health and safety initiatives

Ngā pūkenga | What you will need to be successful:

• Proven leadership experience in property maintenance or project delivery, ideally within aged care or similar environments
• Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination
• Solid understanding of building compliance, health and safety legislation, and maintenance best practices
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organisation
• Trade qualification and a current driver’s licence are preferred, along with basic computer literacy
