We’re looking for a handy Jack/Jill of all trades to look after the general maintenance of the YMCA Taranaki on a casual basis, as needs arise.
The General Maintenance Worker’s role is a vital part of the Business Support and will contribute to the delivery of high quality services with a YMCA values driven approach. The Building Maintenance Worker will provide quality general building maintenance at any YMCA Taranaki site to ensure that the sites are kept safe, secure and in good condition, as required. The role requires professionalism, confidentiality, a customer focus to a high standard. To proactively monitor and commit to ensuring that the health, safety and wellbeing of all team members, tamariki/children whanau/families who interact with their service.
Key responsibilities include:
- General repair work of our buildings, equipment, and facilities
- Re-painting areas
- Ensure all indoor and outdoor areas free of hazards
- Buying and ordering of equipment to complete maintenance tasks
About you:
- Experience in general maintenance work
- Can provide own tools for the job
- Ability to work autonomously, follow instructions well and be part of a team
- Strong focus on Health and Safety in every aspect of your work
- Can do attitude with great judgement and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
- Great time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Full NZ driver’s licence
- Friendly and approachable
- Physically fit and practical with a sense of fun and enthusiasm
