We’re a vibrant and busy restaurant and bar seeking an experienced and motivated Duty Manager to lead our team during shifts and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role suited for someone passionate about hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations during assigned shifts
- Lead and support front-of-house and bar staff
- Ensure high standards of customer service, food, and beverage quality
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and feedback professionally
- Manage bookings, walk-ins, and floor service flow
- Open and close the venue, including cash-up and security procedures
- Monitor compliance with liquor licensing and health & safety regulations
- Support the General Manager with training and staff supervision
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and guests
Requirements:
- Valid LCQ and Manager’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Proven experience in hospitality, preferably in a supervisory or duty manager role
- Strong leadership and people skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
